Holiday Jam Featured on News 12 New Jersey
We are honored to share that the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic 60th Annual Holiday Jam was recently featured on News 12 New Jersey, highlighting an event that has become a cherished tradition for families across our communities.
For six decades, the Holiday Jam has been more than a seasonal celebration. It has been a powerful expression of community, generosity, and hope. This year’s event continued that legacy by welcoming hundreds of children and families from Paterson, Passaic, and neighboring areas for a day filled with joy, connection, and meaningful support.
From the moment families walked through our doors, the atmosphere was full of excitement. Children enjoyed games, rides, music, and festive activities while eagerly awaiting a visit from Santa Claus. Laughter filled the space as families created lasting memories together, many experiencing a moment of joy and relief during a season that can be challenging.
“This is about community, building it and supporting families,” said Christina Dukes Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic. “Our goal is to be a beacon of hope, especially during the holidays, and to remind families that they are not alone.”
While the Holiday Jam is filled with celebration, its heart lies in meeting real needs. In addition to holiday gifts for children, families received essential resources including groceries, clothing, and books. These supports help ensure the impact of the event extends beyond one day and into the homes of those we serve.
“For many families, this event represents relief, dignity, and reassurance,” shared a Club staff member. “It is not just about the gifts. It is about showing families that their community cares and stands with them.”
The News 12 feature captured the spirit of the Holiday Jam and reflected the mission that guides our work throughout the year. Creating safe spaces, providing opportunities, and empowering young people to reach their full potential are at the core of everything we do.
“This event reflects everything the Club stands for,” said another team member. “When you see the smiles on the children’s faces and the gratitude from parents, you are reminded why this work matters.”
