Be a VoluntHERO
Calling all VoluntHEROes! A BGCPP original event is back once again! Show the Club Kids of the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic your super powers and join us for a week of super-charged fun to celebrate Spring Break. Corporate and individual VoluntHEROes are invited to visit our Clubhouses to connect with Club Kids, ages 5-13. Each volunteer will choose from the list of sessions below and then be paired up with a pod of Club members and their staff leader. Each session is designed to engage volunteers and members alike in in various activities that highlight the value of literacy, healthy habits, STEM, and plain old FUN.
VoluntHERO sessions are:
- Reading Hero: Is reading your VoluntHERO superpower? Time to show it off! Reading Heroes will engage with a pod of Club members for a read-a-long as well as play reading games and icebreakers to promote the power of literacy.
- STEM Hero: You’re a STEM hero if your superpowers are in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. Join Club Kids for technology and STEM based computer activities in this one-hour session that enables the next generation of innovators!
- Hobbies Hero: Do you have a super-secret talent as your superpower? This session is for you. Join Club Kids for arts & crafts sessions, music lessons, or other hobbies that highlight talents and promote individuality.
- Health Hero: If your interests lie in health, fitness, or nutrition, then you’re a Health Hero! These 1-hour sessions with Club members will focus on the value of building lifelong healthy habits through either fitness or nutrition based activities.
Each session is one hour long. Participation in this event provides Club Kids with the tools, positive relationships, and resources that enable Great Futures. Activities are curated by our experienced Club staff to ensure that the FUNdamentals of learning and engagement take place for all involved!
